Khachanov v Auger-Aliassime.
Karen’s nice win over Stan yesterday sets-up this battle in Coupe Rogers round-of-16 play.
Later we’ll discuss this along with a few other matches. Nice win for Thiem in a war of the one-handers, beating one of the local favorites who has all kinds of work to do to stabilize his game.
People are probably excited about Sascha’s potential here in Montreal, but I suspect Nikoloz will make him earn the win in their R16er.
Nadal to battle another lefty today; maybe Guido still has some form.
That’s all for now.
Oh, HBD, Federer. Wonder what he’s wished for, blowing-out his candles.
PS
To prove I didn’t miss anything in my absence during Washington D.C., Kyrgios’ result in Montreal says more about him than his Citi Open title. I’m not going to overlook the wins over Tsitsipas and Medvedev, but Nick is still pretty much a bag of meat. No thanks.
