Rogers Cup Day 2

The schedule is loaded today with some fine match-ups.

With play underway, I’ve decided to pen a puny post and go exercise and run a few errands rather than watch Kyrgios v Wawrinka. Stan looks to be playing better in the second set, but he was breadsticked in that first with a seemingly complete lack of form. Kyrgios we know is not 100%, so this, ironically, on a day full of good matches is probably the least interesting. The tennis isn’t living-up to the name recognition here.

In the first set, Stan was purring along with a ~22% FS.

I will make sure to catch Chung v Djokovic (perhaps a little payback is in play, as well as a reversal in form between these two from earlier in the season) and any number of other matches: Chardy v Shapo, Pouille v Felix, Dzumhur v Tsitsipas, Dimitrov v Verdasco. . .

Speaking of Lost Gen gents, Nishikori lost the first set to one of my favorites, Haase (and is down a break in the second). Let’s see if the Japanese fellow can rebound or if he senses too much from the Haase racket (and the schedule, which gets very difficult right about now in this U.S. series run-up to NYC).

Enjoy the tennis!
